hello everyone,

just a quick message to thanks publicly all the members of the community that help me since i bought my virtual boy one month ago.

i would like to thank Minestorm for the FlashBoy +, and also the printed visor plastic plate replacement part ; both were a very fair deal and send quickly.

i would also like to thank TheForce 81 for soldering my display units so i can play on "crystal screens", again the price was more than fair and the service was very professional.

I advice anyone new on the forum who's looking for that kind of service to contact them : you won't be deceived.
And finally, thanks to all the homebrew developpers that present new games for this hardware; i past last month loading my flashboy again and again :)

now that i've got the collection that i wanted, and even a little thing special, i will look for more official cartbridge on ebay.

that may sounded like a useless post, but these things need to be told :D

Of course it's not a useless post! Some of the great folks around here have helped in breathing new life into this system over the years. It really is remarkable. I'd also like to thanks some of the people here.

Eric (Bigmac) - You were nice enough to sell me your Japanese display unit, and you've always been nice to me, since I first joined. You have a genuine good person vibe to you that's rare to find on the internet. Not to mention all the time (and money) you've invested in making the Virtual Boy better for everyone.

Minestorm - Flashboy. Need I say more? Actually, yes. You're also a programming magician, what, with the fighter engine and Gameboy emulator.

Thunderstruck - The amount of stuff you've done to improve games, the games you've made, the tools you've developed.. This community and the progress made really wouldn't be near where it's at today without you.

Benjamin Stevens - Your dedication to this console is astounding. The sheer amount of research you've done blows me away. Thanks to you there's so much more information available for everyone to see.

Runnerpack/TheForce - You guys are actively keeping Virtual Boys functioning, and that's so cool. Thank you for literally keeping these consoles alive.

And of course Kri55e, who without him this website wouldn't even exist.

I know I've missed some people, there are a few others that have done amazing things, and some who are just great people, I can't think of you all right now.

I also get the feeling I may have said something I shouldn't of in the past. If I have I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said it, and I no longer have the file I mentioned on my computer. The posts can be deleted if need be.

I second that emotion on all. I have had many pleasant interactions about various things with many of those listed. Much love for all those guys and their varied contributions, but I will specifically single out Runnerpack for literally bringing all 3 of my units back from the dead with his mad soldering skills.

north or whomever, I may expose my ignorance here, but what do you mean by "crystal screens?" Is that something special? I haven't heard that term in the context of the VB yet.

That's MK.

I just make the FlashBoy+ cart and the repro game boards.

(which wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for bigmak securing the BNIB donor carts)

Thanks for the kind words. I am actually still in search of precious, original Virtual Boy information, primarily that which is contained in the Japanese language, and I've actually found some interesting things recently, which I hope to share and later translate. Nevertheless, I've been rather stressed and busy lately, so I don't know when I'll get to it, but I keep on trucking.

He very likely meant "crystal-clear" screens, since his screens no longer have the glitchy display problem.

Ooooh, it'll be cool to see what you found! I know all too well how life can be a stressful time suck.. Hope the stress levels come down soon for ya, it's not fun being stressed.
