Anybody else ever thought of making the colors on the super game boy look like Virtual Boy colors and play your gameboy game in red and black? I made one and the password is 2561-9219-2435 if anyone wants to try it.

I had made one on the Super Gameboy 2 - forget the password but here are some snaps.

It doesn't look that 'pink' in real life, duff camera I guess.

I had to try this with Chalvo 55 =P

I had to tweak the colors a bit for it to look right, so I guess here's the password for Chalvo 55:

Played Rockman World 4 with the palette. Didn't look too bad, but I prefer normal Game Boy greyscale.

I don't know why I've never thought of doing this before, great idea! I guess I'm weird like the rest of you, I like the Virtual Boy's red graphics.

The only downside here is most Game Boy games use white as the neutral background color, not black like the Virtual Boy. Obviously to keep within the legal Game Boy shades, "white" has to become light red, with red, dark red and black being the other options. What one ends up with is not the same as VB, the very light red is what is used the most, meaning it's not so red. Any time I try to make the majority color more red or black, the games end up looking like negatives.

The best example of SGB VB coloring is in certain areas of Wario Land 1, where sometimes you enter an indoor room or area, black is used for most of the default color, white is still used where Wario can walk around though.

I'll give your passwords a try, thanks guys.

Or... you could just take a couple pairs of cheap, cardboard, anaglyph glasses, cut them in half, and tape the two red halves together. Put on the result, set the SGB to plain greyscale, and enjoy! If you set your TV's saturation control to 0, it even works with the PlayBox or XStation! In fact, why not just walk around like that and make EVERYTHING look like a VB game?!

Har har, very funny. It makes the most sense to reddify Game Boy games because those games are most similar to what the VB had. That and the Super Game Boy begs you to input custom palettes.

Hahaha, that's exactly my thoughts when I bought these for 2 bucks. Now EEEVERYTHING looks like VB!

Neat idea! I wound up trying it on a few different games. The password works well with Battlezone. I had to tweak the color, but X and Face Ball 2000 look pretty good too.
