There is NO WAY that there would be so much battery goo that it would leak out of the battery lid, into the case, fill up the case, and then SPLATTER into the drawer. But I guess common sense is wasted here...

no because last time I let someone change the batteries in something that had leaked ones they prodded and scraped the thing so much and kept taking the batteries in and out that I fear if I asked for help my Gameboy (more to me than a cheap clock) they would break it further or it would just be horrifying to watch them turn it off and on and scrape at the compartment and take the batteries out and in and out

You fear too much in life, almost as if you're afraid of ever getting hurt... Just do it.

If (and only IF) there ever turn to be acids, things won't exactly get out of hand.

Good thing I use an AC adapter for my VB. With batteries, you could play lying down, but leakage and limited power are the only misfortunes.

Does the VB use 9-volts?

I guess you could hook up a 9-volt with some modding, but the original battery compartment is designed for 6x 1.5-volts.

*shudders at the thought of batteries leaking in my VB (well, technically its controller)*
