Thanks. Now if there was only a way to make sprites appear bigger when they are under it. That would be really cool.

That's what Affine mode is for, but it's pretty tricky to use. As an alternative, you could just as well replace the fighter's sprite with a pre-drawn magnified version when under the magnifying glass.

BTW, should you ever consider to make me a hidden character in the game, I want the magnifying glass to be my fatality, please!

I tried making big versions of the characters in there, but I couldn't even do that. So I'll just leave it as is, although I did change one thing: The fighters were going over the magnifying glass (oops!) I changed it so they now go under it.

OK, another month, another change. After I had some issues with my FlashBoy not working right (it kept stalling at either 2% or 6% complete, so I had to CTRL+ALT+DEL and start the FlashBoy program over and over again. It was annoying.) I changed it so that special moves now have special sequences to enter to activate them. The sequences are:

Gi-Ant : L, R, U, D
Behe-Moth : R, L, U, D
Rumblebee : L, R, D, U
Melee-Dy Bug : R, L, U, D
Superfly : L, D, U, R
Killipede : R, D, U, L
Panzer Dragonfly : L, U, D, R
Slaying Mantis : R, U, D, L

The R, L, D, and U in the second letter indicate Right, Left, Down and Up respectively. And these should be entered using the right control pad.

I tested Gi-Ant and it works well. Let me know what you think if you download the ROM.

I decided to make the bugs walk on the fighter title screen instead of float. But, the problem is: I want to make it possible for the bugs to face the correct way while they're walking in the fighter select screen. I spent at least two hours trying to figure this out but my stupidity got the best of me. All I want is to make the fighter turn left when he goes left. And then turn right if right is pressed when left was pushed before. And then turn left if left is pressed after right was pressed. Why is this so &*^% hard?!

I figured out a solution. It's not the one I wanted, but it's better than none. It took a whole lot of hours, though. And while I did, I noticed I had made these stupid green arrows in Programmer's Notepad and they won't go away. How do I get rid of them? Download the latest version of

Added a new background for Gi-Ant. I inserted a photo of a giant anthill in the background but it looks more like mountains to me, although I guess that's OK too. What do you think?

The ground color needs adjusted, and also I recommend the name "Slay Mantis."

Also why did the character series downgrade from their previous more detailed look?

OK, I'll try to adjust the ground color. The reason the insects look the way they do is because I drew them, and I can't draw as well as everyone else. I like having almost total control of my games, though, as I can shape and mold them as close as I can to my original vision I had.

Its your game, design and shape it to your liking. I commend anyone that has the talent and spends their personal time developing games. Thanks for the hard work and don't be too hard on your self.
