It's similar to what the guy w/ the dev disks said... he knows the disks won't be worth what he paid as soon as he releases them, so he wants to recoup part of the money from donations.

thats an excellent idea! i know i'd be happy to donate some funds to those who were good enough to post these rare gems, I'm sure the rest of the VB community would do the same :) of course dev disks dont apply to me I gave up programming once i left uni :p

why do people want bound high so much?

I prefer to play full games of some non finished homebrew games like Super Mario, Mario kart: virtual cup (if creator adds original levels) and Silent Hill: Devil's Lyric way more then bound high

Simple: most people don't even have the opportunity to play Bound High!, let alone the other unreleased VB titles. It all stems from curiosity and being able to play something most people haven't played.

...but would it really kill the owners of unreleased betas/full games to, y'know, maybe post a video or two of the game in action? Like maybe 30 seconds or so? I highly doubt posting a video of Dragon Hopper in action would destroy the game's value, so what gives?

It seems that anything can be obtained with enough money.

Since nobody's kind enough to offer up the game, us "regular VB gamers" could each offer up a sum of cash for a public dump and sooner or later, it'll (hopefully) be enough to attract collectors who would gladly trade the copy for a bunch of dough to buy some rarer beta. Yeah, it does have some faults (people could change their mind about giving, etc). But isn't it worth a shot?

I currently can afford to offer up 20$, I'm too young for a job, and still have Christmas shopping to do. The beta traded doesn't even have to be bound high, if somebody had Zero Racers, Faceball, or even the elusive Dragon Hopper, I'm sure 90% of people interested would still donate. If every active person on this site offered a couple dollars, we'd have a fairly large sum of money.

And there's got to be some collector out there somewhere who could be persuaded to change their mind...

So far, JackFrost and I have offered up 90$, anyone else care to join?

I would happily put in $70 too.

And i too would be happy with any of them ROMS mentioned, so long as they play proper, that is the whole point for me, to play them on hardware, not emulated.

Nice to have the glitchy bound high rom but if you can't play/finish the game on hardware its not fair to release that dump and expect folks to stump up bucks for it.

I completely agree with you, I'm ok to give $70 whatever the game (Bound High, Dragon Hopper or Zero Racer).
It would be cool if someone who owns those games could read us and answer our wishes.

We are already up for $160 ! Who's next ?

Whoever owns the ROM could set up a page on Kickstarter and then people could pledge their money. Set a price, and if the money is pledged by the deadline, BINGO, release the rom!

I don't see how someone could lose...heck, you could even make a TON of money if enough people are excited about getting the rom released!
