What is it you understand about the high price of games like Waterworld that you don't understand about 3D Tetris? If one game's price doesn't make sense to you, it stands to reason that other games with high prices wouldn't either.

As for finding copies for $12....well I've watched the VB since it was released and have collected for it for years, and I've never seen it for anywhere near that price at any time. Seems like an isolated case of extremely good fortune, not the norm.

I could maybe see it being super cheap around the period that stores were desperate to rid their VB stock and VBs were selling at Toys 'R Us for $25, but not really any time outside of that period. CheapER, maybe, but never a cheap game.

I have also been keeping up with Virtual Boy since 1995 when I bought my first one. And I know the games were that cheap, including Waterworld and Tetris, because thats when I bought all of my games. I distinctly remember buying 3d-tetris for next to nothing, and intentionally not buying Waterworld because it was horrible. They were both in a discounted/clearance bin at KB toys. I don't believe I ever spent over 15$ on a single game. I have no memory of 3d-Tetris being expensive at any point up until the early 2000s. But maybe it was just my good fortune as you stated. Or maybe there were more limited quantities in Canada. Maybe if you try to be a bit more positive you'll have good fortune too. :)

All the games were cheap in that sort of time period. 3D Tetris and Nesters bowling (to a lesser extent) got more expensive then the cheaper games over the years. My guess is they had a smaller print run.

Well, the most rare and expensive game on the VB (US) is Jack Bros and itís also the best game on the console (in my opinion ;), but wario land seems to be better for most people).

Expensive games can be bad, nevertheless the point is that the best games are more expensive than the other in the same condition (same period, as many copies).
