Same here, table. I use it differently though. I lean the VB back on its stand, so I can sort of look down into it. This is way easier than trying to hunch over and look into the VB horizontally. Basically, you look at the faint illustration of the girl playing VB on the PVB page, you just rotate the VB forward so it is looking up.

I drilled a whole the metal part of the bracket and mounted mine to a tripod, ha.

I play it on the table like normal. Although I set it on my Firebird service manual (I'd guess a good 2" thick), which gets it to a more comfortable height. Hunching hurts my back, so with the extended height I can play without issues.

I find it is the most comfortable to lay on my back, on a bed or couch, and rest the VB on my head with the stand sitting on my chest stabilising the VB. I think there is a picture of a kid doing this in a Nintendo Power magazine or something

Laying flat on my bed with my head between pillows. The VB sometimes hurts the bridge of my nose.

When using the Nintendo stand, I can only play while lying on my back with the VB held on my face by gravity. Very rarely, I'll go table-top style on my kitchen table, since it's high and makes for a good angle.

Other times, I get tired of boring drummer practice routines and need a fun distraction:
