Right screen suddenly glitches?

I bought a Virtual Boy a few months back, and have played it here and there for a bit randomly. Probably less than 2 weeks ago, it ran perfectly. No glitches in anything. Today, my power was out, so I booted up my VB to pass some time.

The warning screen shows up fine, as does the calibration screen... But, then the right screen goes to hell.... It starts with a few lines being added, then the lower half of the screen disappears and gets smooshed up to the top of the screen, and all sorts of weird draw glitches.

I thought it might be the game cartridge, or low batteries... but it remains after changing both...

Did my new toy suddenly die on me? T.T I would have thought the ribbon coming loose would be a more gradual process than just suddenly not working right one day...

Thanks.

I'm new to the community, but I've done some pretty extensive research over the last few weeks. I know I'm going to get a Flashboy + relatively soon... But I do have a quick question...

I understand the unit can only store one save file at a time, but something I've never seen mentioned, is can you extract that save file when you hook it up to your PC, so you can keep progress in that way, if you load another game that saves?

Thanks!

Hello there!

The other day I managed to achieve one of my childhood dreams... I picked up a Virtual Boy! I now have every Nintendo console, except the Wii U. (Exempting minor variations, like the vertical NES, etc)

I remembered these coming out when I was a kid, and always kind of wanted one... But could never commit to buying one off eBay. One came up on my local auction service the other day, and I decided to get it, hell or high water.

The visor was missing, but the unit itself is clean, with its stand. And there are no lines across the displays. Got TeleroBoxer (Which is awesome), and Panic Bomber with it, and immediately ordered all the rest of the games I wanted except 3D Tetris. (I'll probably post on here looking to trade for a copy at a later date)

I made a foam visor following a simple guide I found on here, but it doesn't quite fit my face, so I'll have to tinker and customize one.

I just realized the left speaker is out on it too... It sounded pretty good when I first started playing it, then the left speaker suddenly kicked on and I was amazed how much better it sounded, before it crackled out 5-10 seconds later. So, probably just a loose connection. But I'll crack it open as soon as I can make a tool to pull the screws out.
