Hi all- just a quick reminder to anyone I have been talking with about repairs lately, I am in the process of a major cross country move which will officially start next week. I will hit the road around Tuesday 2/7!

So with that in mind, please do not ship me any VB things for repair until further notice. Chances are I'll be able to set up a temporary shop by mid/late-month, but I don't want to overextend myself or lose something in transit...so feel free to email me still about repairs, but just know it will be a few weeks before I can get back into it 😊

I'll email the two of you whose system or displays I have now, they will be finished by this weekend!

My phone is having trouble with those links but what I saw so far looks great! I'd be interested in some should they become available for purchase.

You may have seen me at that Portland expo, such random dumb luck that I was in town that weekend. Luckily a retro game shop had some advertisements for it and I happened to see them the night before the main selling day at the expo 😄. Did you get the Gundam from that guy who was in the very back corner? I bought some of his NES repros...

First of all, she sounds like an awesome girlfriend! Does she have a sister? Haha...

Anyway, as far as I know the consoles are exactly the same whether retail or kiosk unit in origin. The 'Not for Resale' Wario cart sounds typical for a store display though.

If you want the displays fixed permanently, I am based in the USA and do the solder repairs here. TheForce81 is in Europe and could probably help you if you live closer to him.

I missed your post somehow! If you managed to get some printed, I would be curious to try them out and see if they work. There's something about soldering them I would probably miss too much to stop doing it altogether heh...but, I suppose slapping the clips on over a soldered display would make for a truly impenetrable defense.

Thanks for the kind words! And yes, I have been very flighty lately due to my real job and also working on a cross country move...but I'm around again now, so feel free to email me about repairs (or email again for those that I've overlooked). HPLovethrash at Gmail com.

Got one too, thanks for the tip, but dare I say it, with the other forum post being resurrected again, Stand Position, the stand is on backwards 😊

But dude, what if like, the STAND is ok but the SYSTEM was put on backwards?!

On a serious note, I wish I'd seen this sooner! I definitely would have gotten a shirt :(. Do you think they'll run this again sometime?

Take a good close look at the picture of the Virtual Boy on the cover of your pamphlet, notice the positioning of the unit and the way it's sort of leaning...

Now have a good look at the picture of the Virtual Boy on my pamphlet, and you'll Notice that under the legs of the stand are the display props that were used to give the 'lean' to the Virtual Boy on the cover of your pamphlet.

Haha, I'm just catching up on this thread now but that's pretty funny. Nothing says cutting edge and high tech like that!

He's trying to put me and TheForce81 out of business! If this clip thing works, I'll have to lure people back to my solder business by throwing in an air freshener with repairs or something ;)

There was definitely mention of a clip/clamp a while ago, maybe on that original VB repair thread. It would be kind of cool if it helps the problem, but do you suppose it'll make the connection tight enough? If the ribbon cable has completely disconnected, I guess it would probably still need some soldering done.
