I just wanted to share this link since Virtual Fishing appeared on gonintendo.com

http://gonintendo.com/stories/246007- ... l-fishing-gets-fan-transl

I just love seeing virtual boy news pop up on video game news/blog sites because it just really makes you think that even old systems/handhelds are still getting love LONG after it's been discontinued from the market/companies.

don't worry about that because gonintendo.com is known for having a bunch of immature trolls just posting negative comments since they got nothing better to do.

ANYWAYS, guess who else picked up on the story and is still on the front page?

Thought I share it with anyone that is interested in SNES games and I think I might end up backing it sooner or later since it still has 58 days to go which is great.

awesome theme but I highly doubt it is a hint because I thought of the same thing when I saw the virtual boy appearing in the Animal Crossing New Leaf game. Eventually I realized that Nintendo just did it because....well it's Nintendo! Everyone knows that Nintendo does weird things but most of all I think it's safe to say that TONS of 1st party nintendo games have nintendo related easter eggs/nods/etc and I always enjoy seeing stuff like this. I'm going to buy that theme now that you posted it!

oh wow this is so cool!!!

Who knows, maybe one day we may end up seeing the game file/rom online that is uploaded by one of the developers or someone who was attached to one or several of the unreleased virtual boy games.

All of the magazine scans are AMAZING ben! Seriously, this is probably my favorite thread of this entire board right now lol.

I really hope some of the developers/coders/etc that were working on any of these unreleased virtual boy games will one day upload whatever game file/rom they have left of the unreleased virtual boy game online.

Then I'm sure there will be groups or teams of dedicated virtual boy fans that will take on one of the unreleased virtual boy games and try to actually make it a playable completed game!

If I could I would love to play that wrestling game on the virtual boy but who knows when any of these unreleased virtual boy games will find it's way online.

more new stretch goals added!

since the project has already reached the funding goal, the project creator adding interesting stretch goals!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/h ... nent-cables/posts/1056888

$37K - Neo Geo R&D - The Neo Geo AES (home version) uses the same A/V port as the Genesis 1 cable, and we've already written our own custom test software for it. It was this software that allowed us to determine the Neo Geo signals would be too bright when used with the current cable design. If we reach this stretch goal, we will be able to buy different Neo Geo console revisions and thoroughly test them all to determine whether we can modify the circuit to accommodate this console via a switch. While we will make every best effort to successfully do this, we cannot guarantee this functionality due to the number of unknowns involved with varying console revisions.

$42K - Test Cartridge Art - All test cartridges will come labeled with art designed by Tom Wysocki, with personalization touches for the owner.

$50K
Level upgrades -

$150 / $275 Early Cable Packs - come with a Swag Pack.
$200 Production Run + Test Cart - can now opt for an Early Cable instead.
$350 Nerd Pack - add a production version of the cable.
$600 Ubernerd Pack - add a production version of both cables.
$1000 Founders Club - also will be rounded out to include production and early versions of both cables.

$60K - Sega Dreamcast R&D - At this level, we'll be able to pour more research into full development of a Dreamcast component cable by writing test software, acquiring/testing more consoles, and implementing progressive-scan mode (for supported games). While we already have a rough prototype, there are a number of remaining issues to work out and we have not tested it on a variety of console revisions, such as PAL versions. While we can't guarantee production of these due to unforeseen issues that may arise in development, hitting this level will guarantee we have the resources to begin working towards an actual product.

$70K - HDMIzer Development - We will hire an additional engineer to expedite development of the HDMIzer so that this product can be released more quickly, allowing the cables to work on televisions that don't accept 240p signals from retro consoles. See description in this link: http://www.hdretrovision.com/future-products/
