Is that a good price now a days ? I bought mine for like 100..and was called out..but of course that was quite awhile ago....

I made a price list containing average selling prices of CIB VB games in the last four months, and I largely calculated all of my prices based on eBay sold listings in the four months prior to April 23, 2013, and the average selling price of a CIB Insmouse no Yakata turned out to be $120.00, so I would say that $200.00 is on the high end.

I don't need no list to tell me $200 is overcharging for Insmouse!

That being said, wow, nice list! I think we all needed an updated price guide. Can we get that posted to the homepage as a new article or something? I'm printing it out and putting it up on my bulletin board right now.

...And list all 33 separate games/versions, THATS how its done!

BTW, $1,331 for bowling on eBay yesterday! You almost NEVER see Bowling there, and just now a loose copy (Grossly overpriced even for VB) and a Boxed copy show up, nuts. and the price kinda went up... In the US at any rate, for people who probably aren't ACTIVE members of our community (or do we actually know who bought it?)

They're not quite identical... you can see that they modified the mold for the US version, to change the text "PLAYLINK" (on the JP systems) to "EXT." (on the US systems).

I actually checked my several Virtual Boy systems out after writing that, and only one of my Japanese units says "PLAYLINK" in that area. The other two Japanese units (one of which is the in-store demo system) say "EXT." like the North American ones. Surprisingly, my North American demo system with a serial number under 1000 also says "EXT." so I have no idea why some of the later systems had "PLAYLINK" and then they got rid of it.

wait, So they started as "EXT", then went to "PLAYLINK" and then went back to EXT? does that mean there could be some US systems out there that say "PLAYLINK"?

Wish I could see the results without voting...hard to vote when you don't have one :)

Yeah, I can't vote either. Had I know it worked that way I would have posted three additional Options

"3D Display sign"
"Other display (like VB Arcade Machine 001)"
"I don't have a display, but show me what the results are B!"

Guys just to let you know if you want to see the images in "3d" you only have to get a pair of Chromatek glasses http://chromatek.com/. That is if you only want to view them and you don't care if you have the VB glasses.

I was gonna say, "aren't those pretty generic glasses you can buy at museum gift shops or craft stores?" I know I had a pair when issue 75 first came out and gave them to a buddy so we could read the issue at the same time.

But then again, Its all about the Virtual Boy branding I suppose; like those knock-off raybands that said "Virtual Boy" on the side, I would have payed close to $40 bux for those given the chance.

I'd feel dismay about such a big waste of VB materials... If that game didn't suck so much. I'm more inclined to Play virtual Lab again then that monotonous, sometimes impossible game.

That makes me wonder... Does anyone know why the Virtual Boy Cart connector is Pin based and not slot based (like all the Systems before it)? While the connection is probably more solid, Id be concerned with eventually bending one of the pins inside the VB unit itself. Then what?! Besides, all the cart based Nintendo systems after the VB (N64, GBA, etc) went back to slot loading cart. Some sort of experiment that failed?

How about the small Store Displays?

Thats listed as the "Japanese Counter Display"

Quote:

This brings up a good question that collectors must ask themselves: should the large Japanese store displays be regarded as different items than the large North American store displays, especially since they have very noticeable differences like the ad inserts? If so, then a completest would need more than just 4 store displays to complete his collection.

As for the larger displays, I thought the only difference between US and JP was the Ad flaps and some random txt around the unit itself. Are there actual physical differences? Or is it just like the "difference" between the Floor and Counter models where if you have both the Japanese and US flaps you basically have all the parts for both.

I still wish I had included the "Display Sign" as an option though. Are there a lot of you out there that only have the sign, no display stand?

BTW, you guys are actually voting in the poll as well as posting to the forum, right?
