Virtual Boy Controller decoder?

Hi everyone,
Id like to design a PCB that will decode the Virtual Boy Controller protocol. I know it's related to SNES, but aside from that I don't know much about how it works. If someone could point me in the right direction for a technical document that would help, I'm just trying to hook this up to something like Neo Geo or JAMMA for example, i.e. one pin per button / signal. So far the only info I found is for making one into USB.

Thanks in advance!

So if I understand right, the original owner couldn't justify the price/time of going to the boarder to pick it up, so just took it as a loss? It really sucks that given the circumstances, he couldn't hire a person, or pay some fee to have it shipped out of there. I mean the thing was over $1000. The bureaucracy is unreal.. I've lost some tools getting on airplanes and read they get donated or auctioned.. yeah right, are they really going to go through the trouble of auctioning a $20 wrench? The employees or managers take that stuff home. I've lost items in my checked baggage, a laptop, cologne bottle, but that's another story.

yeah I lost a pile of rare mega drive games at an airport once. Left them at security while rushing onto a plane. Called immediately when we landed and even went there in person on the way back. Did someone going through security steal it? I doubt it. Security staff just swooped it I bet.

This kind of legalized stealing happens a lot with police and real estate auctions...it's especially bad when families get evicted and you see the speculators selling off the baby toys and stuff :(
This is what happens when a group has too much power without oversight *shakes head*

anyway glad you had a happy ending. good story!

The pessimist in me tends to agree...but hopefully not!

Looks neat. It's not asking too much, I'd love to see some decals or case flair to make it look more like a market product. Controls look really solid and I bet this has it where it counts.

Very cool stuff and helpful to know that YT destroys red/black images with their compression algorithm!

Nice to see the library getting some love for a change.
