Those weren't usable if I remember correctly, the connector to the mainboard was not in that design.

I have a VB here from someone from the Discord channel. Unfortunately one of his displays had such a crease that a few of the inner wires are broken. I would like to make his VB whole again, but need at least one display for that. Can be an unsoldered one, no problem with that!
If you have two, that would be even better for eventual future cases.

Very cool piece of hardware!

One piece of advice, do not put boards on anti static bags! The outside is conductive and can fry your board.
People say it isn't that bad, but better safe than sorry. Put it on a piece of cardboard if you are protecting your table ;)

Yeah, that is going to be the issue, space in the cart. All of the holder I have come across will be too high to be on the board and in the cart. It would need to be outside of the board area which doesn't sound like a good solution to me. Don't like stuff floating around in a cart.

Hey all,

I haven't had one game cart with failing saves yet, but someone is sending me a VBWL cart that has issues. So I want to replace it for him, but would prefer to put in a battery holder.

Anyone tried that yet and what is the CR battery in it? It is mounted upside down and do not have the cart yet, so can't see which battery it is at the moment. I assume it is a CR2025, but not entirely sure.

EDIT:
CR2025 is impossible, too high, must be the CR1616

I submit to you all that there was nothing that could have been done. VR and 3D technology in general is very gimmicky, and even when built well; it’s still got very low adoption. 3D TVs while amazing came and went with little fanfare. Nobody even talks about Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR or any of the other ones, they are gimmicky and only fill a very small group of peoples interest.

When Nintendo 3DS launched hardly anybody was interested, and it appeared as though it was going to fade out. It wasn’t until prices lowered and people realized they could play games without the 3D that it became everyone’s console.

So, to recap, people suck! ;)

After that there are no more VB motherboard connectors available.
