Current state of VB on TV in 3D?

I read about the VirtualTap devices, and that they are not currently available. I saw in the comments that it might be possible to use two of them combined as red and blue to get anaglyph 3D on a TV. Has anyone done this?

Or, is there currently any other way to play an actual VB on a TV in anaglyph 3D?

I'm open to even more complex ideas, like consolizing a VB.

Speaking of the cases...are those custom VB cases?

Although the game seems to be working it also suffers from a lot of slowdown. Additionally, the sound is mixed really weirdly: the sound effects are loud while the actual music is barely audible. I was wondering whether these are regular features of the game or problems with the rom.

Not at all. This game is one of my all-time favorites, and I've never experienced slowdown or the audio oddities you mentioned. I played it only on real hardware, so yes either your emulator is having issues with the ROM, or your computer may not be sufficient for playing this game emulated.

Just put a very small "or" between the 5 and the 4 and you'll be fine. ;)

Sounds like an interesting project though, seriously.

Is this still something I could get in on? Do I just need to donate a cart? I've got one I'm willing to chip in, if that's all I need to do.

I really just need to get a PCB laid out for it, but figuring out the mechanicals of making it all fit nicely into a VB without hand-wiring a bunch of wires is time consuming.

Who says it has to fit into a VB? :)

How about a prototype box that sits outside and connects into the needed places via some sort of cable? I'm sure any of us that love to tinker would gladly have an extra box connected into both our VB and TV and not give you any grief over it!

Feel free to save the internal mod for version 2 of the release once we've helped you get all the bugs out of it! :D

The one thing so far I hold in great disdain about some of the games available for purchase on the 3DS is that the Super Game Boy features were stripped from games such as Game & Watch Gallery, Donkey Kong '94, et al. Why is a brand new *3D*, *COLOR*, state-of-the-art system relegating these games which shipped originally with superior color palettes and audio to a dismal monochrome existence.

It just bums me that I can't fully _replace_ my old games with these downloads because they are technologically inferior. I guess that isn't going to be a problem for anyone who didn't play those games originally on an SGB, but...I did...so...it bugs me.

*sigh* Okay, I'll get off my soapbox now. Thanks for letting me inject a tiny bit of angst into this thread. :)
