Thanks guys, i'm glad you appreciate the result :)

Indeed an arcade stick with the guts can be relatively easily achieved. One would just wire a common ground and the according signals for the buttons to the VB controller PCB. Hell, the VB controller PCB would fit in pretty much any enclosure. You could even custom wire it to a Neutrik RJ45 adapter for a clean look.

Biggest obstacle would be figuring out where the powerpak stands in the build.

Around May 16', i spent a week or so on a project which involved cannabalizing a VB controller to wire into a USB decoder. The point of this undertaking was to get a "fightstick" or arcade controller working with Hyper Fighting. After some hiccups with solder pads lifting, using light traces, and the fact that the decoder could perhaps use a bit more voltage, every PS3/XB360 controller i have used works A-OK with it, even with converters (PS3 to PS2, etc.), with no delay whatsoever.

I honestly forgot to post about this little endeavor of mine until now. It would be pretty sweet to link play another HF owner, see how this pits against a mere controller :D

Check it out !

Don't give up hope guys.

I am cross-involved with multiple scenes where unreleased titles cone up regularly. As of most recent, things like Ecco II for Dreamcast have been found; Kenju for Atomiswave has been dumped & should be subsequently receiving a cart release in the near future.

There is always somebody out there who may stumble upon the right connections.

If you want to try some titles hands on, the newest Everdrive 64 firmware supports 64DD imgs perfectly.

Has anyone had luck saving Pokemon Red, or anything else for that matter? I couldn't seem to get it to work in the way I assume it's supposed to - saved in game, press R trigger, turn off/on, start back on saved game?

fantastic!

i wish i lived closer - recently padhacked a VB controller to a USB decoder, enabling the use of a PS3 fightstick. Works flawlessly.
