Ok so I read the thread...

My condolences to Eric(Bigmac) regarding this situation.

Can something be done in terms of editing the software/sprites to make a game CIB that is intellectually unique???

Where is the pressure coming from? And why would there be pressure regarding this release? Its a real shame that it has come to this...

What is the situation with donation at this time...?

Hopefully something can be done with regard to this situation... Or is it truly too late for that....?

No, everything is just fine.

It's just some asshats who think $100 for an unreleased prototype is a load of crap, and think that, oh no, it hurts Nintendo.

I mean, people port Konami MSX and Sega SG-1000 games to ColecoVision for profit. Soon, there will be an arcade perfect port of Donkey Kong on the Super Game Module for sale as well. You think any of those companies care? You think BPS, god knows what it is now, will care?

Nothing bad is going to happen. No pressure at all. :)

I am a PC Engine fan, so I used to have a PC Engine GT(Japanese handheld version). It's a lot of fun. Be warned though. The batteries maybe last 4-5 hours, and you will definitely need a rechargeable battery pack. Also, mine was very expensive. I got mine with 4 games for $250, and I resold it later. A lot of fun, but even bigger than a GameBoy.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I will take a break of about a week or so. I know everyone is overexcited about all of the Faceball related stuff right now but I feel pretty exhausted and need some time to get back to normal. So don't worry if you don't see updates in this thread.

You deserve a break, thunderstruck. Have fun. :)

Eric is a good nice person. We had a few good conversations on the chat box.

I wish him luck with Faceball, and any other future endeavors. :)

Protoman85, because your reviews are awesome, I'll let you in on a little secret.

To get muchos coins, go to the 10x coins mini-game.

Now, you may think this is always random, but on every single stage, the pattern is EXACTLY THE SAME.

I figured this out myself. I do not quite remember what the pattern is, but notice which bat is correct after each time you pick.

I love the coin game. ;)

*Signs*

Probably the first new signature in a while. Heheh.

Wario Land is one of the best platformers I've ever played. Not exactly long, but if you take your time playing it, it's a ride.

I've beaten the game on hard mode multiple times. There are a few blocks or whatever I can't reach. According to the level maps, I missed a big room on the Waterfall stage and one on the funhouse stage.

I love replaying this game so much. I usually just play one level a night, so it doesn't get boring. :D

this is all very exciting! a never before seen VB game that was intended for legit release?
you really have gone above and beyond in acquiring the prototype, but it really doesn't sit well with me that some guy was holding on to it and then sold it for such a big amount. i mean unless that japanese guy was solely responsible for coding the entire game, it's really not his to sell like that and is a pretty anti-gamer thing to do to hold on to it in secret, only releasing it for big bucks. Even if he was on the staff that worked on it, it wasn't his money that financed it, it was nintendos. What would he have done with it if no one had stumped up the cash? and was he pimping it around to try and find a buyer? if no one else had ever offered the money, he would have had a worthless piece of plastic.

Leaves a sour taste in the mouth imo, anyone with a love for gaming wouldn't do this, i expext he was a money man for nintendo and somehow got a hold of it.

Well, you have to remember. Faceball was developed by BPS, which hasn't done anything in about 20 years.

Hmm, Mr. G seemed like a nice guy. Unlike most prototype hoarders, he gave a lot of screenshots, level descriptions and video. I do wonder where he is now.

I finally got to play this for a few minutes on the Red Dragon emulator.

Unfortunately, that meant no music, and no #D, but I still got to play the game.

Fishbone is a very nice homebrew. Virtual Ben did an awesome job with the graphics. Thunderstruck, you did very good coding, and there is a lot of variety. I like how the stage select screen is inspired by Faceball.

I didn't expect this game to be auto-scrolling, or using only the d-pad, but it's a nice and simple little game. Good job you guys. :)

Hey everyone,

I've found some cheap VB games on Amazon Japan, but unfortunately, proxy services are somewhat pricey.

What do you guys usually use for buying stuff from Japanese websites? what's the fastest, cheapest and best proxy services? Thanks.

Well I finally watched that quick video.

Oh god, it was only 10 seconds, and yet that guy got so many facts wrong.

Mr. G sold the cart, he didn't buy it.

Eric is not a sucker, he is a hero.

"It's more like a WINDOWS 97 SCREENSAVER!! HAHA, I MADE A FUNNY!"

Getting a copy of a rare prototype for $100 with box and manual is a bargain.

I'm so sick of disrespect for the Virtual Boy...
