This is easier than you all think. The SONY Personal 3D Viewer is a wearable 3D, HD display. Just plug this into a PC and run your favorite VB emulator.

EDIT: I would probably paint mine red XD

I'm really glad they're considering that at all! Every time I buy a virtual console game on my 3DS, I take the Club Nintendo survey and ask for VB on 3DS! Even if they don't do it, 3DS jailbreaking will be possible soon. The guys at 3dbrew.org are going to decap the 3DS SoC, which has the encryption keys necessary for jailbreaking. Then someone could port Mednafen!

Cool. I'm not gonna get to work right away though cause I've got some stuff to do first, but I'll post the emu here if I ever finish it.

OK, fine with me, I just thought that if you guys can make custom carts and link cables it would be possible. But, I didn't expect it to be possible.

... we could remake the vb? I've seen all the posts about custom manufacturing, pcbs and custom carts! So why not make more virtual boys! And then we could also make it better too, like replacing the led scanners with modern lcds (Zero Power LCDs would be easy on the eyes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquid_crystal_display) or maybe giving it wireless link.

I know this is kind of a dreamy idea and it's probably not possible, but what do you guys think?

Assuming you know something about how to read code, getting a GC toolchain and libraries installed is probably a good first step. devkitPPC is a good choice (it's likely what the WiiMednafen developer is using). Building and running some kind of GC demo code will make sure all your tools work and libraries are installed.

I think I'm gonna go with option 2, but I don't have my SD Media Launcher yet so in order to try the demo code I would have to use an emu. Is that OK?
