Thanks! As for the tripod adapter I actually just got the tripod first and made the file myself. If anyone wants the file I attached it below, but it's a pretty atypical stand compared to the standard flat plate - screw in tripod stands.

Thanks! Hopefully when I have more time I can try stripping the paint and doing a better job the second time.

So I wanted to get a second virtual boy for future modding and link cable shenanigans. I managed to get a cheap head unit online with a beat up shell which I attempted to paint (very poorly I might add).

The unit was also given a custom 3d printed stand so it was compatible with a tripod I picked up from a goodwill.

Lessons learned:
1. just because you can fix virtual boys does not mean you know how to paint one well

2. use multiple thin coats of spray paint and sand more before spraying the initial primer.

3. be careful with the LED ribbon cables as I had to re-repair them after accidentally pulling too hard on them when trying to place the whole unit back in the shell

I mean it's always pretty easy to get a VB off ebay, but seeing as this would be a secondary unit, I'm trying to get it as affordable as possible. My ideal ebay listing would be a heat unit with the eye shade parts and the controller (if it was cheaper due to the glitching displays that would be even better). I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here as well.

That one looks like they changed the recommended ages. The original print with the mom picture basically says to not let kids play the VB unsupervised. But that section is changed from "When letting a child play" to "Appropriate user ages." The new version basically says to not let anyone between the ages of 0-6 play the VB, period.

Looking to buy another Virtual boy for some paint job and link cable action.

I'd be looking for at least a head unit with the eye shade visor and bracket along with a controller. Original stand and battery packs aren't needed as I have spares.

Units with glitchy displays are welcome as well!

Thanks for looking!

From what I can tell, the actual content hasn't changed much between the two versions. Mostly the order they're displayed in. Maybe it was something to do with the complaints of the system once it was actually released? And then changing the instructions to show the most important things at the top? Like the original version without the 1 at the end has a blurb on pirated cartridges on the front side, which is moved to the back side in what I assume is the later printing.

Feel free to add me to the list as well for the USA. I've done a couple units and would be more than happy to help other members out.
