I think I'll de-scope from the concept above with the idea of making it cheaper. TBD. HyperFlash32 boards should be here end of the week so I may have to table this for now. However, some test PCBs with my pins to create my own VB motherboard connector are already in progress.

I do have parts for 4 more of the existing programmer, if anyone else is interested.

Was browsing the internets and found this promotional flyer on the VB for sale. I don't recognize this one, is this one known about?

Dude wants over a grand for it, so I'm assuming it's rare?

Here's the auction
https://www.sendico.com/ayahoo/item/b403991566

There's 3 Japanese flyers in the hardware section but they don't seem to show for me.. not sure if this is one of them

Edit: Nevermind, worked in a different browser. Looks like you do have these ones. This thread can be deleted.

Still can't believe the guy wants a thousand bucks, lol

No problem at all... thank YOU for running my favorite website! 😁👍

Here's a picture of the poster in a temporary frame. Due to the pandemic that's currently taking place, I'm unable to get it framed professionally, so this will have to do for now.

Blockbuster did use these cases to rent out their VB games, but were the cases designed to hold the VB's game carts in a specific way? I have one in my possession and I can't seem to find a good fit for the cartridge anywhere. No matter where I put it, it freely moves around once the case is shut and I pick it up.

Blockbuster was such a big part of our lives and that's all gone now...

My childhood Blockbuster transformed into a laundromat, but the owners knew what this place meant to the community and therefore decided to make their folding tables Blockbuster themed (4th pic). That's pretty cool, but everything is temporarily shut down due to covid.

Almost definitely need JUST a replacement lens/ribbon cable.

Bought a VB off Ebay, display did nothing. Had tech-savvy housemate solder the display cables and the left one is perfectly fine whilst the right one has terrible horizontal lines, as seems to happen with roughly 150 percent of all Virtual Boys ever produced. He's currently seeing if he can resolder the offending lens, but I'm bracing for the worst.

I can't find ANYWHERE online where I can buy ONLY a ribbon cable/lens, it's all 'buy an entire unit and say goodbye to 150-250 dollars.' If anyone has any leads, please let me know, I would appreciate any information.

He thinks there's possibly a botched attempt at repair by the previous owner. He talked about a specific pin near the centre of the board looking not quite right. He thinks he might be able to attempt a re-re-fix but again, I'm expecting the worst.

Thanks for any responces.
