Description

Virtual Bomberman is a typical, but 3-dimensional Bomberman game with nice 3D explosions. The “Story Mode” uses multilayer maps like in any Bomberman game. In the new “Challenge Mode” the player has to finish a level in a time limit of two or five minutes. Louie, a strange animal you could ride on, would not have been in Virtual Bomberman, but 5 new armors called “Lock On Armor”, “Launcher Armor”, “Rick”, “Tibo” and “Ninjirou”.

The game was shown on Famicon Space World ’95 at the Hudson booth, so probably a prototype or at least a video exists.

After the release of Virtual Bomberman was first set to December 1995, it was then pushed back to the end of February 1996 and finally cancelled due to the failure of the Virtual Boy.
