Description

Doraemon: Nobita no Doki Doki! Obake Land (Doraemon: Nobita’s Pounding Heart! Ghostland) is an unreleased Nintendo Virtual Boy action game based on the popular manga/anime Doraemon by Fujiko Fujio, developed by Epoch.

Though fundamentally a side-scrolling action game being set in a deserted amusement park at night, there are various attraction-based, action oriented mini games to play, reportedly making good use of the Virtual Boy’s stereoscopic capabilities, such as attacks from the back of the screen. For instance, there’s a roller coaster shooting game where you shoot the enemies that appear all around. Other mini games include bungee jumping. Search for hidden, secret tools and rescue your buddies who have been kidnapped by ghosts. There are five different characters for the player to choose from, including Doraemon, Nobita, Gian and Suneo, with each one having their own characteristic attack.

The game had a Mach 1996 release date before eventually getting cancelled due to the Virtual Boy’s commercial failure.
