I'm a collector, but mostly I like this thing because it's fun to play, and I always bring it camping because somebody who has never played a VB winds up getting hooked on it & sitting there with their head in the Red Vision for the entire camping trip while everyone else plays tricks on them. I picked up my VB at a Garage Sale for $10 and the box was beat up, it's now gone, the lenses are cracked, but you can't notice it when playing and the visor is worn, but hell the thing plays good, and I have it because it's fun, I am not under any illusions that it will ever be worth anything... I bought most at local pawn shops and off e-bay, and I have many mint boxes, but really am not too worried about the re-sale, I play these games (although not as much as my ps2, because they really are kinda weak...)
