Question about Japanese Virtual Boy in the US

I purchased a Japanese Virtual Boy and will use it in USA. I want to purchase a power adapter for it and want to make sure I don't use the wrong adapter and cause any problems.

Can someone help me understand what I should be purchasing?

Is there a difference between the USA and Japanese power taps? Which should I get?

Which AC adapter do I need to connect to the power tap? I've seen that in USA you can use a SNES adapter, but is that going to be the case with the Japanese Virtual Boy? I've also seen reference to having to use a genesis adapter or something too but haven't found a clear answer.

Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated!

What you want mate is a US tap and the US snes a/c adapter. The Japanese tap has a different power adapter connection.
Hope this helps.

Yes that is correct, they both run on 9vdc hence the 6 AA batteries. Its just the taps that are different.
